Anderson Cooper announces he has tested positive for COVID-19 and both of his children have tested negative: ‘Hope to be back at work soon!’

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper announced Monday that he had tested positive for COVID-19, but both of his children have tested negative.

The 54-year-old New York native, who has 14.1 million followers on social media, captioned his Instatory selfie: ‘I hope to return to work soon’.

Anderson has two very young children: Wyatt Morgan, who turns 2 on April 27; and 8-week-old Sebastian Luke, whom he is a father to along with his ‘best friend and former partner’ Benjamin Maisani.

Fortunately, Anderson can get plenty of quarantine advice from his best friend Andy Cohen, who has contracted the coronavirus twice (in December 2021 and March 2020) despite being vaccinated.

Cooper appeared to be in good health as he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last Wednesday, where he discussed parenting and his recent trip to Ukraine.

“What’s so sweet is that every day there’s a little more progress for Wyatt,” the Peabody-winning journalist said of his big brother duties.

‘Then he’ll come and hold Sebastian’s hand while I’m feeding him.’

Anderson laughed, “I started doing this with Wyatt where we both make fun of Sebastian.” Not in a bad way! When Sebastian is crying, Wyatt looks at me and I look at him and say, “Wow! I’m a baby! I’m crying!” And he likes it a lot! So now he does too.

The 60 Minutes correspondent then made a joke about the boys behaving the way they do during New Year’s Eve specials: “And they got really drunk together.”
